VISIT OF THE GOVERNOR TO THE WELLINGTON NORMAL SCHOOL.
AVellington, This day. His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by tho Minister of Education, visited the Normal School yesterday. After inspecting the building Sir William Jervois addressed tbe students, saying he was pleased at what ho had seen, and that now teaching was not considered of a singularly inferior character as a profession as formerly. Ho then referred to the fact that the school had that day three years before been opened by Sir Hercules Robineon. Since then steady progress had been mado, and he hoped that ie would continue to prosper.
