News has been received from the west coast of Africa that tribal hostilities have again broken out in Ashantee. A severe battle has been fought at Coomassie, resulting in the defeat of the adherents of King Calcalli, who suffered great slaughter, and has been compelled to retreat from the capital towards tho country occupied by the Gamanes, one of the tribes who are opposed to the King. The Daily News, in its issue this morning, publishes an article strongly urging the British Government to take steps to exclude French convicts from the Australiancoloniea.
