BOROUGH PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATIONS.

The Public Works Committee of the Municipal Council held their usual meeting last evening-, and agreed to recommend the Council as follows : —■ 1. That with reference to the correspondence re Northe-strcet, both Messrs Glendinning and Griffin and Mr T. Taylor be directed to remove any obstruction they caused on the public roads. 2. That water be laid on to Bourkcstreet, as requested, conditionally that the petitioners pay half the cost of the Avork. 3. That two fire-plugs bo procured and placed in such positions on the Beach-road as shall be recommended. 4. That the attention of the Gas Company bo drawn to the provisions of the Napier (las Company's Act rchtive to the opening up and filling in of trenches ; also that of plumbers and others laying water services. o. That Mr Crowley's request bo complied with. 0. That Mr Blythc's request to be allowed to erect a. drinking fountain bo granted, the work to bo subject to the engineer's supervision.
