MR GLADSTONE VISITING NORWAY. IRISH DOCTOR COMMITTED FOR TRIAL FOR CONSPIRACY TO MURDER. SEVERE ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN THE FRENCH AND ANNAMITES. ANTI-FOREIGN FEELING IN CANTON CAUSING UNEASINESS.
LONDON. September 14. At to-day's wool auction 11,700 bales were offered. Tho tone of tho sale was firm. Since tho opening- of the series 27,750 bales have been withdrawn. Tho sales close on October Bth. September 14. Mr Gladstone, who for some time past has been yachting on the Scotch coast, has sailed for Norway. Dr. Connolly, who with his brother was arrested at Limerick on August 22 charged with conspiracy for murder, has been committed for trial.
