CURIOUS INSENSIBILITY.

[TO THE EDITOR OF THE DAILY TELEGRAPH.] Sir,—l notice a paragraph in this morning's paper styled a curious proof of insensibility. Curious it may seem, but true nevertheless, as I, tho undersigned, Avas a jockey riding in the same race. The curious coincidence occurred in the Handicap Steeplechase held at Dowling Forest racecourse. Ballarat, Victoria, which _ was won •■by Prodigious, Chandos coming in second, ridden by myself, and Ararat third, ridden by the insensible Jockey. Neither the insensible jockey nor myself could claim place money on account of going the course less once round. 'Tis quite true that Martin Bourke, tho rider of Ararat, claimed to have won the race, and it was not until an M.D. had been called in and applied some curious remedy that he could be led to believe the contrary. Hoping you will insert these few lines,— I am, kc, P. M'Coy, Hastings.
