The latest intelligance from Madagascar report that Queen Ranovaloniaujaka is dead, but the statement requires confirmation.
At the wool sale to-day 11,000 bales were catalogued, but no improvement in prices was experienced. The first portion of the cargo of mutton onboard the steamship lonic, froiuLyttelton, was placed in the market to-day. The meat ■was of prime quality, and realized from 7d to 8d per lb.
