The South Australian and Tasmanian Governments have informed Mr Service that they would prefer that the Annexation Conference should be held at the end of October, and Mr Service is trying to arrange a date that will be mutually convenient to all the colonies.

The Irish Convention will meet in Melbourne on November 7 for the purpose of placing the Irish National League on a permanent basis in Australia. Mr Kcdmond will preside over tho convention. Obituary.—Stuart O'Brien, the wellknown comedian.
