over 11,000 bales. There was a moderate attendance, and the bidding was irregular. The prices realised were a shade easier. Tho bulk of the new capital in the New Zealand Shipping Company has been subscribed.

At tho inquest on the body of Archbishop Vanghan a verdict of death from natural causes was returned. The Hon.
