LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.

Saturday

The Council met at 2.30 p.m. PASSAGE OF BILLS. The Guardian, Trust, and Executors' Company Bill was read a third time and passed. Mr Reynolds introduced a bill to amend tho Licensing Act, which was read a first time.

On the motion for the third reading of the Otago Harbor Board Bill Dr. Pollen moved its recommittal for further amendment, but this was negatived after a long discussion by 23 votes to 11.

The Auckland Loan Bill was passed through committee and read a third time. On the motion of Mr Whitaker it was agreed to sit on Monday, and the Council rose at o p.m.
