[To tho Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] Sir, —I Avish to draw tho attention of the public to tho disadvantage the shipping community of theportare placcdatAvhen any boats arrive hero of an evening. It would bo a great boon to lightermen and others concerned if somo method of night signalling could be devised, thereby enabling them to know when a steamer has passed the Bluff. In tho day timo tho signals are loAvercd to slioav Avhen a boat has passed the Bluff, and Avhy should not a conspicuous light be treated in the same manner after dark.
