Now Zealand securities. —The five per cent 10-40 loan remains at 10Gi-, and tho five por cent 1889 loan at 106 ; tho four ancl v half per cent 1879-1904 loan has advanced to and four per cent inscribed stock is quoted at 100J-. Adelaide wheat, ex-warehouse, remains at 48/- per 400'lbs ; New Zealand wheat, per 4fJolbs, ox-warehouse, is quoted at 457----to 49,'-, according to quality; Adelaide Hour remains at 34/- per 2801bs, ex-store. Australian tallow is unchanged, best beef realising 39/0, and mutton 40/6. August 13. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £12,8000,000, an increase of £600,000 compared with the reserve last week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities lias advanced 2 per cent, and is now 47 per cent. The bank rate of discount remains at 4 per cent, and the market rate at 3J. Consols are unchanged at 101 . Now Zealand securities aro quoted as follows:—Fivo per cent 10-40 loan, ; five por cent 1889 loan, 100 ; four and a half per cent 1879-1901 loan, 100| ; four per cent inscribed stock, 100-'?. Melbourne, Friday. Advices to hand from Foochow report little doing. Business with the colonies is iiiichung-d. Tlic cxr>orts to date amount to 9,000,000 lbs, showing an increase of 3,500,000 lbs compared with the same period last year. Sydney, Friday. New Zealand wheat, 476 per bushel; New Zealand oats, 2/4 ; maize, 2/11 ; sugar, Company's No. 1 pieces, per ton, £35. Adelaide, Friday. Wheat is quoted at 5,'- to 5/1, with market quiet and nothing doing ; town flour per ton £11 5/-, and country brands £10 6/-.
