PORT OF NAPIER
ARRIVALS. August. 10—Frank Guy, three-masted schooner, from Wnrnambool. l7_Omapere, s.s., from Timaru direct.
DEPARTURES.
August. 17—Southern Cross, s.s., for Wellington. Passenger—Mr Flyer. * The Union Company's s.s. Omapore. arrived in our roadstead at 0 o'clock this morning. She left Dunedin at D.30 a.m. on the 13th, and arrived at Oamaru at 7 a.m. on the Mth; lo it Oamaru at 11.30 a.m., and arrived at Timaru at 5 a.m. on the 15th, leaving Timaru at 1.15 p.m., and steamed direct for Napier, arriving as above. She was brought inside at noon to-day and moored to the breastwork. The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross was delayed in her departure to-day owing to the' Oinapere sticking in the middTo of the channel, but got away at 1 o'clock. The three-masted schooner Frank Guy, Capt. J. P. Ballo, arrived in the bay at -1 o'clock yesterday afternoon from Warrnambool, which port she reports leaving on Sunday, the sth instant, and passed Stephen's Island on Wednesday morning last. The passage from port to port occupied 11 days. The Boojum took her in tow, and brought her to the breastwork at 5.30 p.m. The Guy's cargo consists of 193 tons, consigned to her owner, Mr J. H. Vautier. The schooner Columbia, Captain Con way. was taking in a full load of potatoes from the Frank Guy to-day for the Auckland market, and will probably get away this evening. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Manapouri, Captain Thomas Logan, left Auckland for this port via Poverty Bay yesterday, and will arrive in our roadstead at an early hour to-morrow morning. She Avill be tendered in the usual way, and at 2 o'clock will steam for Melbourne via Wellington and Southern ports. The Union Company's s.s. To Anau will not arrive here till Sunday from Southern ports. The steamer Omapcrc, while being brought inside to-day, owing to her being heavily laden, stuck in the centre of the channel about half way up the breastwork, but by the skillful management of the pilot she was brought safely to the breastwork notwithstanding the gale of wind blowing at the time.
