Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co. report, as follows of the London wool market, under date 22nd Juno, 18S3 :—The second series of Bales ciime to a conclusion this afternoon, and since our la.st report of 15th instant very little change has taken place in the market. After increasing , slightly in firmnoss, the tone is now if anything weaker, and great irregularity prevails, the large quantity of second-hand wools which have been put forward having , an adverse tendency, In heavy and faulty descriptions, washed crossbreds of the Lincoln type, and rough low scoureds, the slackness is most apparent, while good bright combing merino and fine crossbreds soil well. Comparing rates with those ruling at the close of the March series wo make good fine combing greasies, when sound and light, about id dearer ; heavy and faulty about the same ; fleece, good, free, about id dearer; scoured combing, bulky and sound, about -Jd dearer ; fine greasy crossbred, about TJjd dearer ; coarse greasy crossbred, about id lower ; coarse washed crossbred, about Id lower. There have been 3X£>, 159 bales catalogued, of which about 33,000 bales have been bought in. The third scries has been fixed to commence on August 21, and the fourth series on November 20. New Zealand securities continue at the following quotation:—Five per cent 10-40 loan, 10G ; five per cent 1389 loan, 10-t-i ; four and a half per cent 1879-1901 loan, 400}, ex-dividend ; four per cent inscribed stock, 102. Off coast cargoes of New Zealand wheat are to-day quoted at 4-1/6. Adelaide and New Zealand breadstuff's on the spot remain at last prices. Australian tallow continues dull at 39/G for best beef, and 40/0 for best mutton. August 14. Consols remain at 100£. The market- rate of discount has risen one-eight, and is now 3j, ; bank - rate, 4 per cent. Adelaide, ex-warehouse, remains, at 48/-, and New Zealand ditto at 44/-. to 48/-. Off coast cargoes of Now Zealand wheat, 44/3. Tho tallow market is easier. Australian best beef is unchanged at 39/G, and best mutton at 40/ G. Melbourne, "Wednesday. Tho local managpr of the National Mortgage,, and Agency Company of New Zealand , reports of the Melbourne grain inarkot as follows: —Shipping wheat is improving, and is quoted at 4/11 to 5/- ; a better demand exists for malting barley ax J3/3 to G/- ; there is a fair demand for Ne.v Zealand oats at 2/10 to 3/1 for milling, za\d 3/2 to 3/3 for feeding sorts ; New Zealand oats, under bond, arc quoted at 2/1 to 'Zj'L
