An entertainment in aid of the funds oi the Meanee school will be given in the Taradalo school-room at S to-night, Rymer's coach leaves Newton's corner ai 7 p.m. The quarterly meeting of the members of the Clarendon Club takes place in the club-room at S o'clock to-night. Captain Prcece, R.M., holds a sitting at tho Court House, Napier, at 11 a.m. tomorrow, for tho purpose of correcting the electoral rolls of the several ridings in the Hawke's Bay County. Application for the post of assistant mistress of the Ormondvillc district school must bo sent to Mr F. C. Shugar, chairman, not later than to-morrow. Messrs Banner and Liddlc sell onions, hams, and bacon at their rooms at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow, and at 11 a.m., on the premises, Dickens-street, dispose of Mr Watorworth's household furniture, dray. &c. Tho annual meeting of the Hawke's Bay County Cricket Club will be held at the Railway Hotel, Hastings, on Saturday evening. Mr Ryan holds an auction sale of drapery, clothing, boots, and shoes, &c., at his mart on Saturday. The prospectus of theWaikonui Water Race and Gold Mining Company appears elsewhere. Mr R. Brooking is the local broker, from whom prospectuses and full particulars can be obtained. Mr P. C. Jones, manager of the Standard Sewing Machine Company, Hastings-street, cautions the public against paying any nioney to Mr J. R. Henry, as he is not employed by tho company. Mr* John Orr, grain and produce merchant, Port Ahuriri, has drain pipes and patent cess-pits and sinks on hand and to arrive. An advertiser has a four-roomed house near the Post Oflice for sale on terms. Mrs Curren, Hardingc road, Spit, is a ladies' nurse. Mr G. Scarfc has fruit, teas, groceries, hams and bacon, and cheese always in stock at his grocery and provision warehouse in Dickons-street.
