LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wednesday. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. EAST COAST TELEGPwU'II EXTENSION. In reply to Sir G. S. Whitmore, the Premier said the Government would consider the petition of the soHlers of Tologa Bay and East Coast for an extension of the telegraph along the coast. TASSAGE OF DILLS. The Standing Orders relating to local bills were suspended on a division of 21 to 11, in order to enable the Masterton and Greytown Land Management Bill to be proceeded with, and it was read a second time. The following bills ■was read a second time : —Pharmacy Act Amendment, Invercargill Reserves' Exchange, and Chattels Securities The Milling Companies Act Amendment Bill was passed through committee, and progress was made in committee on the Bankruptcy Bill.
