Manihcra te Ngarara, charged on remand with being- a lunatic not under proper care and control, was committed to the Napier Lunatic Asylum. civil cases. Parker (rate receiver) y. E. F. Hamlin. — Claim £9, balance of rates due. Judgment for amount, Avith costs £I.' Lee and Sheath v. A. Peters.—Claim £4, professional services. Judgment for plaintiff by default for amount, with costs £1 Is, and solicitor's fee £1 Is. Mr Cornford for the plaintiffs. Collins v. James Trask. —Claim 18s, goods sold and delivered. Judgment for plaintiff for amount, Avith costs 7s. Sims v.'J. Snow.—Claim 16s Bd. Judgment for plaintiff, Avith costs 7s.' Gillespie V. AY. W.Yates.—Claim £3 2s lOd, judgment debt. The defendant Avas examined by the plaintiff, but the examination failed to show that the debtor had been possessed of sufficient means since the judgment Avas taken out. The case was accordingly adjourned for one month. Gillespie v. Page.—Claim £4 13s lOd, judgment debt. Defendant agreed to pay the amount in three months, arid an-order was made accordingly.' Flanders v. H. Vaughan.—Claim £36 12s' 7d, wages -at rate of 22s per Aveek. — The defence was that the agreement mado Avith plaintiff Avas for 15s a Aveek and board, and that there Avero certain days to be deducted when plaintiff Avas off work. The sum of £19 14s, with 16s costs, had been paid into Court in full satisfaction of the claim.—Mr Lee appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Cornford for tho defendant — The evidence of the plaintiff and defendant, also that of James Peacock, was taken, and His AVorship gave judgment for plaintiff for 18s per week, deducting the week-the plaintifi was away in all £26 3s, with costs £1 Is, n,nd solicitor s fee £1 Is. ~, , , A number of other cases were settled out of Court.
