PORT OF NAPIER
ARRIVALS. August. 11—Manapouri, s.s., from via Southern ports. Passengers—Misses Hassell and Brathwaite, Mrs Renwick, Mr and Mrs Hassell, Messrs AA r . Stephens, A. Jupp, G. H. Swan, Griffiths, AVhceler, Carroll, Smith, and six in the steerage. 11—Columbia, fore-and-aft schooner, from Mercury Bay.
Tho Union Company's steamer Manapouri, Captain Logan, from Melbourne via Southern ports, anchored in the roadstead at 11 o'clock this morning, and her passengers and mails were landed at the breastwork by tho launch Boojum at 11.45 a.m. The steamer Sir Donald also attended on arrival for her inward cargo, somo 60 tons. The folloAving is a report of the Manapouri's passage, kindly furnished by Mr L. C. Miller, her purser: —Left Hob-son's Bay at 2 p.m. on the Ist instant, cleared Port Phillip heads at 5.35 p.m., and passed AVilson 's Promontory at 11.35 p.m. the same day ; made the Solanders at 9 a.m. ou the nth, and arrived at Bluff harbor at 2 p.m., after a splendid run of 3 days 22 hours. Had light northerly Avinds and fine weather during the run across. Sailed from the Bluff at 4 p.m. on the oth, and arrived at Port Chalmers at 7 a.m. on tho 7th; sailed at 5 p.m. on.the Sth, and arrived at Lyttelton at 7.30 a.m. on tho 9th; sailed again at 5.30 p.m., and arrived at AVellington at 8 a.m. on the 10th ; sailed again at n p.m., arriving hero as previously stated. Tho Manapouri's outivard mails and passengers Avill be taken off by the launch at 4 o'clock this afternoon, the vessel steaming on her Avay northward as soon after transhipment as practicable. The fore-and-aft schooner Columbia, Captain Conway, from Mercury Bay, arrived in tho harbor early this morning, and was berthed inside at the brcastivork at noon. She loft Mercury Bay last Tuesday, and brings a cargo of saivn timber for Messrs Dolbel and Co.
The steamer Kiivi, Captain James Campbell, leaves AVellington for the coast and Napier this evening, and Avill bo in our roadstead by daylight on Monday morning, sailing again for AVellington tho same clay. Tho Union Company's s.s. Tarawera, Captain Sinclair, from Sydney, -(Vuckland, and Gisborne, Avill arrive here early to-mori-OAV morning, and after being tendered as usual for mails, passengers, and cargo, is announced to steam on her way for Southern ports and Melbourne at 11 a.m.

Cable information has been received that the first three direct steamers of the Shaiv, Savill and Co.'s lino aro to sail from London as folloAvs:—The first on tho 15th September, for Auckland, AA'ellingtoii, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmerc ; tho second on tho 25th October, for Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and AVellington; and the third on the 25th November, for Lyttelton and AVellington. Dunedin, This day.
The National Mortgage and Agency Company have received a cable advice that the steamer Triumph, 2849 tons, will loan wool at Port Chalmers in December, under charter to Shaiv, Savill and tho Albion Company. The Union Steamship Company have received cable advices from Home of tho satisfactory results of the trial trip of their express steamer the Takapuna, and of the intention to despatch her for Neiv Zealand on tho 17th inst.
