Thursday. The Council met at 2.30 p.in, PASSAGE OF BILLS. The St. John's College Removal Bill, tho Christchurch Cathedral Square Bill, and the Westland Education District Subdivision Bill were read a third time and passed. Messrs Richmond, Grace, and Scotland opposed, and Dr. Pollen and Mr Oliver sup, ported tho Annexation and Federation Bill. It was committed, and the various clauses passed. The Guardian Trust and Executors Bill and thejMining-Company's -A-ct A.naendmeut Bill were read a second time. DIRECT STEAM SERVICE. Messrs Miller, Hart, G. R. Johnson, Holmes, Acland, Richmond, Robinson, and Williamson, Menzics, and Dr. Pollen were appointed as a committee on direct steam service. The Council rose at 4.15.
