THE MORTALITY AMONG BRITISH TROOPS IN EG-YIT.

August !!. In the House of Commons last night Mr Gladstone was questioned regarding the cour.-jo which the Government proposed to adopt with respect to the withdrawal of tho British troops from Egypt, and the probable duration of the occupation of that country by a British force. In his reply the Premier declined to undertake to consult Parliament before withdrawing the regiments still in Egypt, or to fix a date for the termination of the British occupation of that country.
