PORT OF NAPIER

The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross, Captain Allman, did not leave Gisborne until 5.30 a.iii. this day, and will therefore notarrivcherebefore to-night. Her time of departure from tho wharf for Wellington has been extended until 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon.

The steamer Kiwi, which left here on Tuesday afternoon last, i 3 announced as having arrived at Wellington at 6 o'clock this morning. She will probably be leaving again to-morrow night for coastal stations and Napier. The sea on the Wairoa bar being again reported by the pilot this morning as heavy, the traders Maori and Fairy are still delayed. The Union Comnany's steamer Wairarapa, Capt. Chatfield, left Auckland at noon yesterday, will be leaving Gisborne to-night, and will bo in the roadstead by daylight to-morrow. She will be tendered as usual for inward cargo, mails, and passengers, the latter outwards being taken off at 2 p.m. tho samo day. Tho steamer Waihora, Capt. Edie, from Melbourne and the South, does not leave Wellington until to-morrow afternoon, will be duo here on Sunday morning, and is announced to sail for Gisborne and Auckland, en routs for Sydney, at 4 o'clock that afternoon. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriter's Association report the arrival of the ships Elizabeth Graham from Lyttclton (left March 26), City of Nankin from Lyttclton (left April 11), Invercargill from the Bluff (left, May 4), and Cairnbull from Lyttclton (left May IS).

[by telegraph.] Wellington, This day. Arrived, at S a.m., Wakatipn, s.s., from Sydney. Some anxiety is felt for the safety of tho barque Kilmeny, which left Wellington in ballast for Newcastle on the sth of May last. Captain Holm, of the barque Malay, states that when he left Newcastle on the 15th of July there was no sign of her, and she was then 72 days out from Wellington. Messrs Levin and Co., who acted as agents for her when she was here, have heard nothing of her since she Jeft. The Kilmeny is owned by Messrs Kerr, Newton and "Co., of Glasgow. She is an iron barque, of 792 tons net register, built in 1877. Captain Royan was the officer in command when she left here.
