The Murihiku Reserves Bill and the Taumutu Native Commonage Bill were read a second time.

BILL IN COMMITTEE. AVhitakcr's High School Bill passed through committee.

BILL PASSED. The Timaru Racecourse Bill was read a third time and passed. PROPERTY TAX VALUATIONS. A motion by Mr Holmes in favour of appointing two 'competent valuators to make tho property tax valuations for the colony, and so secure uniformity, was, after discussion, withdrawn. FOREST CONSERVATION. The debate was resumed on Mr Chamberlain's motion re forest conservation, which was agreed to.
