MEETINGS OF RACING CLUBS.
Wellington, This day. The annual meeting of the Wellington Racing Club was held last evening, Mr J. S. M. Thompson in the chair.' The balance-sheet showed an overdraft of £17. The receipts for the season were £1910, and the expenditure £1967. The amoupt given in stakes was £1451. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Sir Wm. Fitzherbert, president of the club, and Mr Win. liickson, vice-president, resigned, and Messrs E. Pearce and J. S. M. Thompson were appointed to fill tho respective vacancies. The other office-bearer;-! elected
wero as follows: —Secretary and treasurer, Mr H. M. Lyon ; clerk of scales, Mr John Maginity ; starter, Mr A. Young; stewards, Messrs H. W. Diver, J. M'Dowell, J. Saunders, H. Fitzherbert, H. D. 8011, J. E. Hayes, F. Franlyn. Wanganui, This day.
At the annual meeting of the Jockey Club last night £75 was voted to the late handicapper, Mr "[-lately, in recognition of ton years' services, and Mr J. O. Evott, of Napier, was appointed in his stead. The vote is to be supplemented here by donations from private friends.
