The Governmnt are considering the question of the establishment of a system of federal quarantine, in favor of which resolutions were passed at the recent intercolonial conference. The owners of the immigrant ship Allanshaw, which arrived from London on May 2, have been fined £500 for breaches of the immigration regulations. The owners of the ship Ellora, which arrived on June 11th, with immigrants from Plymouth, have been sentenced to pay a fine of £250 for a similar offence.
