CLAIMS UNDER ROADS AND BRIDGES CONSTRUCTION ACT.

The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Waitaki County Council on Wednesday :—"Seeing that numbers of local bodies have made such outrageous applications on the Government for aid under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, this Council would respectfully suggest that before any division on the claims sent in at the 30th of June be made the Government will amend the Act limiting the amount any local body can apply for as indicated in the Financial Statement, in order that other bodies may acquire a more equitable division.
