The breadstuffs market maintains its upward tendency. Adelaide wheat, exstore,, is unchanged at 475, and New Zealand ditto at 44s to 47s ; off coast cargoes of New Zealand wheat are quotod to-day at 435, a further advance of ls; Adelaide flour, ex-warehouse, 335. Australian tallow, best beef 40s, and best mutton 41s. July 26. Consols haA'o advanced to 9DJ, a rise of one-eighth. The bank rate of discount remains at 4, and tho market rate at 3J. The Bank of Eugland Aveekly returns show the total reservo in notes and bullion to be £12,400,000, an advance of £600,000 during tho week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 44 per cent. There are no changes to report in New Zoaland securities or colonial breadstuffs and tallow. Melbourne, Thursday. Wheat, shipping 4s lOd, with market quiot and prices irregular ; for malting* barley the demand has slackened, and the market is weak, to-days quotations being 6s to 6s; New Zoaland oats are quieter but steady at 2s 9d to 3s for feeding, and 3s Id to 3s 2d for milling qualities.
