CONTRACT
ARRIVAL OF FRENCH AMBASSADOR
AT PEKIN
MEETING ARRANGED BETWEEN EMPERORS OF GERMANY AND AUSTRIA. LONDON. July 10. The Union Bank of Australia has declared a dividend of 9 per cent, for the past
half-year, and carried £30,000 to the roserve fund. The National Bank of New Zealand has declared a dividend of 4 per cent, for the past half-year. July 20. It has transpired that Sir Charles Rivers Wilson, one of the representatives of Great Britain in the council of the Suez Canal Company, has been despatched by the Cabinet to Paris to confer with the Comte de Lesseps with a view to carrying into effect the agreement which was come to on the 11th instant for constructing the second Suez canal.
