THE HUNT V. GORDON ACTION.

Wellington, This day.

In the case of Hunt v. Sir Arthur Gordon, which was commenced before Mr Justice Richmond and a special jury in the Supremo Court yesterday, Mr E. Shaw, with whom were Messrs H. Gully, A. De B. Brandon, jun., and E. T. Mora, appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Harper, with whom were Messrs H. D. Bell and Fletcher Johnston, for the defendant. The action was brought to recover £8000 damages for alleged false arrest and deporting tho plaintiff out of Samoa. When tho Court adjourned, Mr Shaw, for the plaintiff, had not concluded his opening address. Mr Shaw resumed his address thiw morning, and it is expected that he -will continue till late in the afternoon.
