The brethren of L.0.L., No. 5, meet at the Protestant Hall at 8 o'clock to-night, and at the same place at 2 p.m. to-morrow in full regalia. The members of the Loyal Napier Lodge of OddfelloAvs meet at tho lodge-room at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow for the purpose of attending the funeral of late Bro. B. Invin. The Napier High School and Mrs Crowley's school re-open on Monday. Tenders for supplying Messrs Knight Bros., Hastings, Avith charcoal will be reeeh'ed not later than Monday. The mate and crew of the Avrecked schooner Transit return thanks to Mr Kraeft, the Pilot, and Mr Bell, CroAA-n Hotel, for kindness shoAvn them.
"Fortuna," care of Mr J. T. Wood, Hastings, has a SAveep of £1000 open on the HaAvke's Bay Guineas of ISB3. Mr Lyndon holds an auction sale of furniture and literature at his mart on Tuesday next. Mr H. O. Johnson, chemist, Hastings, invites tenders for the erection of a building in Hastings. Mr AY. Douglas, Te Muhanga, has for private sale the Avhole of his thoroughbred racing stock. The Municipal Engineer invites tenders for the erection of a concrete retaining wall in Shakespeare road. Mr Elbourne, the proprietor, announces that tho Puketapu Hotel Avillbe opened on Monday, at which patrons will find every convenience. Two jrcntlemen can obtain board and residence'in a private family on applying at office of this paper. A number of iioav advertisements will bo found in our " AVanted " column.
Persons passing along street last night must have been struck Avith the display of meat in Thompson and Higgins' butchery, opposite Mr Brysou's shops. Several'remarkably fine quarters of prime beef from Mr Tiff en's -station were shown, as Avell as mutton, brawn/ sausages <--r<lf s head, and entrees.—[A.™.]
