Kingdom of the Netherlands. 2. At the outbreak of the French revolution, 1789, Belgium Avas a portion of tho Austrian dominions ;in 1795 it was overrun and conquered by the French ; iv 1814 it Avas handed OA'er to tho Netherlands, of which kingdom it remained a portion till the revolution in 1830, Avhen it gained its independence. From the abovo you Avill see that whatever Belgium troops fought -with the allies at Waterloo must have belonged to the army of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
