The " Merry Thoughts and Happy Moments " Company make their first appearance in the Town Hall, Hastings, tonight. The volunteer district orders for the month of July are published by Major Routledge. The Artillery parade for gun drill to-night at 7.45. Mr S. Heinus, agent of the New Zealand Temperance Mission, lectures in the Town Hall, Waipukurau, at 7.30 to-night. St. John's Band of Hope meets in the school-room at 7 o'clock to-night. A sitting- of the KM. Court will be hold at the Court House at 11 a.m. to-morrow for the purpose of correcting- the electoral rolls for the several ridings in the Hawke's Bay County. Tenders for the erection of a new Girl's High School in Clyde road must be sent in to Mr Robert Lamb by noon to-morrow. The annual meeting of subscribers to the Maraekakaho public library will bo held in the public hall at '2 p.m. to-morrow. Captain Bly the requests employers of members of the N.E.V. to kindly afford facilities for their attendance at the daylight parade on Saturday. An ordinary meeting of the Hawke's Bay Philosophical Institute takes place in the society's room on Monday evoning next. Messrs Knight Bros., Hastings, want tenders for the supply of 50 tons of char-, coal. Mr J. Thomas Wood has two properties at Hastings for sale on easy terms. Mr E. W. Kuowles has the store lately occupied by Messrs Banner and Liddlo at the Port, opposite the Post Office, to let. Mr R. Brooking wants to lease a sevenroomed house at a fair rental. Mrs Troy, Coote road, has a furnished sitting and bed-room, with board, to let. Mr W. A. Beeoroft offers 10s reward for the recovery of a sheep dog, lost from Hastings. Mr John Murray, of the Napier Cash Boot Shop, has just received direct shipments of boots and shoos from Homo and colonial makers. Messrs Blythe arid Co. have a flower show in their windows. The regulations for the conduct of the Hastings cemetery are published for general information. Mrs H. J. Hills, Sale-street, has board and residence for two gentlemen.
