Third appearance of tho " Merry Thoughts and Happy Moments" Company at the Theatre to-night, when a change of programme will bo presented. The funeral of the late Joseph Hedley leaves his late residence, Milton road, tit 7.30 a.m. to-morrow for St. Mary's Church, and tho members of the Men's Living Rosary meet at the society's room at 7.45 a.m. to attend the funeral.
Mr Hugo lectures on "Hands" in the Clive Hall to-morrow evening.
The third quarter of the Ladies School commenced to-day. A public meeting of sheep farmers is convened to be held at Waipawa at 11 a.m. tomorrow for the purpose of taking steps to abate the rabbit nuisance.
The " Merry Thoughts and Happy Moments" Company perform in the Town Hall, Hastings, on "Thursday and Friday evenings. Theßifle Volunteers parade for company drill at the drill-shed to-morrow evening, when recruits will be passed into the ranks. Mr Ryan will sell at his mart on Thursday a quantity of drapery, clothing, hats, caps, clocks, watches, jewellery, kc Messrs Knight Bros., Hastings, have for sale seed and eating potatoes, _ garden, vegetable, and grass seeds, sporting guns and ammunition, preserved meats, kc. Mrs May's school re-opens on Tuesday
next. The fifth annual show of the Hawke s Bay Poultry and Canary Association will be held in the drill-shed, Tennyson street, on Friday and Saturday, 3rd and 4th August. The Napier Commercial Academy reopens on Monday next for the reception of boarders and day scholars, the night school being continued as usual. A number of new advertisements will be found in our "Wanted " column.
