Mr Monteith reports that at the Horse Bazaar on Saturday 30 horses were catalogued. Good, young, and sound light harness sorts, carriage horses, and hacks are in fair demand, but draughts are dull of sale. Aged lots and scrubbers are scarcely saleable at any price. Of those specially advertised for Saturday good hacks fetched up to £16 10s. Buggy ponies, 1 pair £29, and 1 pair £17 10s. Of the racehorses offered tho following were sold: — Lady Bab, 42guineas; Reform, 44guineas. The others not reaching owners' reserves were passed in.
