Second appearance of the " Merry Thoughts and Happy Moments" Company at the Theatre Royal to-night at 8 o'clock. The office of the Permanent Building Society will be open from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening- for receipt of monthly payments and issue of investment shares. Applications for the post of certificated mistress for the Gisborno district school must be forwarded to Mr D. Johnston, chairman school committee, not later than to-morrow. Messrs Banner and Liddlo sell to-morrow at 2 p.m., ot their rooms, Sydney oranges, lemons, and mandarins. Persons interested in re-establishing the Napier Choral Society are requested to meet in St. John's schoolroom on Wednesday evening. The annual meeting of subscribers to the Maraekakaho library takes place in the public hall on Friday afternoon.
Mr H. Stevens, bricklayer, wants tenders for the erection of a three-roomed cottage in Milton road. Dr. Matthews has removed to the old Bank House, Shakespeare road, where ho may be consulted daily, and also at MiWoods', chemist, from lo to 11 a.m. daily (Sundays excepted). The owner of an aluminium pencil caso and pen holder, which have been found, can have same by applying at office of this paper and paying expenses. Mr S. Hemns, agent of the Now Zealand Temperance Mission, delivers a lecture in the Town Hall, Waipukurau, on Thurs day evening. A special-made suit, the production of last season's wool, can he seen for a few days at the New Zealand Clothing Factory in Hastings-street, where extraordinarily good value in all departments is being offered. A black mare has been impounded at Farndon, and will be sold on July 16 unless v edecmed.
Mr F. W. Garner has commenced business as accountant, valuator, general agent, &c, in premises next Messrs Banner and Liddle's, Tennyson - street. Messrs Blythe and Co. are offering a discount of 3s in the £1, and are opening 130 dozen Chenille squares to-day. The finder of two £1 notes', lost between the Bank of New South Wales and the White road railway crossing, will receive 10/- reward on returning same to office of this paper. The Bon Marche has the newest and most fashionable shapes in ladies straw hats. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted " column.
