Saturday,

A largo fire occurred this evening _at Newcastle, and tho extensive premises belonging to Messrs John Ash and Sons, timber merchant, were totally destroyed. Mr Topham, tho contractor for the Sydney waterworks, was to-day stuck up near Ca-inben by two armed men, who led him to a tree and robbed him of the sum of £1500. The robbers have since been captured by the police.
