The brethren of the Scinde Lodge of Freemasons hold their regular meeting in the Masonic Hall, Tennys.n-strcet, at 7.30 this evening. Those interested in the widening of Dickons-street hold a meeting in Mr Monteith's new store, Hastings-street, at S o'clock to-night. Mr Ryan holds an auction sale of ornamental trees, shrubs, plants, kc, and a quantity of furniture, at his mart at 11 a.m. to-morrow. Mr Monteith sells 40,000 feet of sawn timber at Glendinning's yards, near Napier railway station, at noon to-morrow. The Meanee Road Board meet to-morrow for the purpose of striking a rate for the current year. A new lodge of the Loyal United Friends will be instituted in tho Taradale schoolroom to-morrow evening. A. public ball takes place in the Hastings Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr J. Mackersay convenes a public meeting of sheep-farmers, to consider the rabbit question, at AVaipawa on AA r ednesday, July 4. Messrs Banner' and Liddle sell at their rooms on AVednesday a quantity of household furniture, glassware, sewing machines, books, music, watches, kc. The Registrar of the Supremo Court informs all interested that the sittings of the Supreme Court will not be resumed till Monday, and consequently that the attendance of witnesses and jurors will not be required until then. The Town Clerk invites tenders for the lease for thirty years of the Napier Corporation endowment reserve of 2000 acres situated near the township of AVoodvillo. Messrs Leonard and Co., general commission agents and hotel brokers, Hastings street, publish a card. On the arrival of the Omapere Mr Monteith will sell 200 sacks prime feed oats. All claims against the estate of Newton and Johnson must be forwarded to Mr C. E. Capper, AVellington, on or before Saturday, or they cannot be recognised, the estate being now closed, and a final dividend about to bo declared. A certificated teacher for the Hampden district school is wanted at the end of next month. Mr Prebble receives this week a quantity of fruit and cured schnapper. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " AVantcd " column.
