The cases against John Puree!! and James Mills, for obtaining money by false pietences by selling casks of water for whisky and brandy to certain publicans, were heard yesterday." Two of the cases were dismissed and three adjourned. Tho magistrate held that there was not sufficient evidence against Mills, and that the information against Purccll was laid under the wrong section of the Vagrant Act.
