MOSCOW.

May 27. The coronation of the Czar was celebrated here to-day Avith great ceremony at the Cathedral of the Assumption, in the presence of a large and brilliant assembly of representatives from the European and foreign courts. The spectacle was one of extreme magnificence, and nothing occurred to mar its impressivcimss. The Imperial rescript issued by His Majesty on the occasion declares that the power ancl glory of the Russian Empire is complete, and repudiates the idea of aggrandisement by military conquest. During tho evening the city AA-as most brilliantly illuminated, and His Majesty drove through tho streets without an escort. The Czar every Avhere was received with the greatest enthusiasm. May 28.

Tbe coronation of the Czar took place at the Church of tho Assumption within the precincts of the Kremlin, and in accordance Avith the programme previously announced. The ceremony passed off Avith the greatest eclat and success in the presence of one _of the most brilliant assemblies ever seen, including princes, ambassadors, and distinguished foreigners of all nations. Among those avlio Avituesscd the ceremony were the Duke of Edinburgh, M. Waddington, and Lord AVolseley. The ceremony Avas throughout in strict accordance Avith ancient custom, the Metropolitan of Moscoav and the elders and high dignitaries of the Greek Church taking a prominent part in the rite. Tho city Avas en fete, and magnificently decorated with nag-.-* and banners, and festivities were organised in all parts. In the evening there Avas a generalilluininatiou, the electric light being displayed from the Kremlin and other points. The streets wore thronged Avith thousands of enthusiastic spectators.
