CAPTAIN OF A STEAMSHIP FINED FOR CARRYING TOO MANY PASSENGERS.
New Plymouth, This day. Captain McArthur, of the steamer McGregor, was summoned for having, on the Oth April, carried a greater number of passengers in his steamer from AVaitara than avus allowed- by certificate. The charge was admitted, but it Avas stated that an extra number of natives who came on board Avas not found out until after the vessel had started. He Avas fined 9s, and a shilling for every extra passenger.
