At the mooting of the Invcrcargill Jockey Club yesterday the receipts from the last races wero shown to be £525, and the expenditure £348, leaving a balance of £176. It was stated that this is the first time that so satisfactory a statement has been submitted in the district, and it was suggested that arrangements should be made for a meeting at the end of the year. Mr J. Mitchell, the secretary, who is about to visit tho Home countrj-, was presented with a gold locket and chain for his services to the club.
