Tho outward passengers for the Union Steamship Company's s.s. Tarawera were taken off by the launch at 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, the steamer getting away for Southern ports and Melbourne at übont f> p.m. She is telegraphed as having arrived in Wellington at 12.-15 p.m. yesterday. The steamer Go-Ahead, Captain Done, arrived hero early this morning from Wellington and the South, and took up her ■berth at the cattle wharf later ou._ She brought a large cargo, consisting principally of breadstufl's" from Oamuru, and transhipments out of the steamer British Queen, which was discharged dining the morning. Tho Go-Ahead was to have sailed again for Wellington at f o'clock this day.

The "Union Steamship Company's ,s.s. Manapouri, Captain Logan, arrived in the roadstead about 2'TO p.m. yesterday from Melbourne via Southern ports and Wellington. The passengers and mails were lightered by the Boojnm and the Admiral attended for cargo. The following is a report of the Mauapouri's passage:— Left Hobson's Bay at -i.20 p.m. on the 9th inst,, and experienced head winds until passingSwan Island at 1.10 p.m. on the 10th; thence strong southerly winds, with head .sea : arrived at Hobart at 9.30 a.m. on the J lth inst., and sailed at -1.10 pin., .same flay ; met with, strong southerly wiuds and squally weather during the run across; passed the Solauders at G p.m. on the 11 th inst. ; then slowed engines and arrived at 4 .he Bluif at 7 a.m. on tho 1 oth, sailed at ■f p.m., and arrived at Port Chahners at 7 ii.m. on tho Kitli; siiiledat 1 p.m. on the 17th, and arrived at Lyttcltou at !> a.m. on l.Sth ; Kiilucl again at 8.: JO p.m., juul arrived at Wellington at noon ; sailed B.IM p.in and arrived here as above. Had jstrong head winds between Lyttelton and Wellington. The outward passengers were taken oil' at I o'clock yesterday afternoon, tho Mauapouri proceeding on her course for Poverty Bay and Auckland at 8.30 p.m. The p.s. Mauaia, Captain Baxter, took her departure for Wairoa at 11 o'clock yesterday forenoon, taking a large cargo and several passengers, arriving at her destination in the evening. Thu three-masted schooner Frank Guy, Captain Balle, was towed into the roadstead last evening by the launch Boojum, and sailed in ballast for Newcastle, N.S.W.

The steamer Kiwi, from Wellington, did not put in an appearauee this morning as expected, and will in all probability not arrive before to-morrow. She is announced to sail again at 1 o'clock to-morrow for Wellington. Tho s.N. Maori, Captain Anderson, ateained for AVairn.'i. vi 10 o'clock this clay, taking a full general cargo. The lighter Admiral, with the steamer Maiiiipouri's cargo on board, was unable to got inside until this afternoon, and the goods will in consequence not be discharged until to-morrow. The three-masted schooner Silver Cloud, Captain Charles Balle, was towed outside this morning by the steamer Sir Donald, and sailed for Newcastle, N.S.W., at 1 Unlock itl billlust. Messrs Shaw Savill and t/ie Albion Company's barque Elcctra, Captain Thompson, although having been here for tho past ten days, has up to the present done little towards loading, owing to the exceptionally heavy roll running in the bay during that time.
