LIGHTING LYTTELTON HARBOR BY ELECTRICITY.
Chrisxohurch, This day. The lighting of Lyttelton harbor by means of the electric light was formally inaugurated on Saturday night in the presence of a large crowd of spectators. The Hon. W. 11. Reynolds (chairman), and Mr H. Driver, director of the New Zealand Electric Light Company, wore proscnt. The electric light Avas a groat success, the harbor being splendidly illuminated. Mr Reynolds congratulated Lyttelton on being the first harbor in New Zealand to adopt tlio electric liylit, and proposed success to the port of Lyttolton, to which Mr Turner, Chairman of the Harbor Board responded.
