Miss Juno and Company play "East Lynuc " at the Theatre Royal to-night. A special train runs from Hastings in connection with same, returning after the performance. Mr W. A. Warren lectures on Dickens m the hall of the Working Men's Club at 8 o'clock to-night. Tho Artillery and Rifle Volunteers parade in front of the Athentonm at 7.-15 to-night, for inspection at 8 o'clock sharp. The regular fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Napier Lodge of Oddfellows takes place at 7.30 this evening. The members of Wickliffe Lodge, P.A.F.5.0.A., meet in the school-room of the United Methodist Free Church, Carlylc street, this evening. To-morrow is the last day for the reception of tenders for removing andrc-crccting the building and plant of the Waitangi boiling-down works. Mr C. E. Smith, from Te Aro, Wellington, commences a cheap sale of surplus drapery and clothing to-morrow in premises in Hastings-street between Holt's timber yard and the Caledonian Hotel. An emergency meeting of the Abcrcorn Lodge of Freemasons, Waipawa, is called for Saturday at 1.30 p.m., for tho purpose of attending the funeral of late Bro. J. E. Goose.
The Borough has been divided into districts for night soil purposes, and the nights on which the soil will be removed in tho several districts are published. Applications, together with tho householder's certificates in favour thereof, for the renewal of the publican's licenses held by Messrs W. Smith, H. O. Caulton, and W. T. Limbrick, for the Exchange Hotel, Napier, Pacific Hotel, Hastings, and Rossshire Arms, Tc Aute, respectively, are published.
Mr C. C. Murray requests those who have sent in their names, and all those persons interested in the meatfrcezing movement, to meet at the Criterion Hotel on Wednesday next, to discuss best means of securing operations for next season. Mr Brandon's oil and water-color paintings of the West Coast Sounds, which arc on view at promises opposite tho Telegraph Office, Hastings street, are to be disposed of by art union. The returning officer, Mr G. W. _ Cullcn, fixes tho dates for the nomination and election of two auditors for the Borough of Napier. At the Horse Bazaar on Saturday, in addition to the stock and produce to be offered for sale, Mr Montcith will dispose of the privileges in connection with the Birthday sports on the recreation ground. A seven-roomed house, with outhouses, garden, orchard, &c, near Hastings railway station, is for sale or to let. The New Zealand Clothing Factory have reserved a space in our columns. Major Richardson has taken out a license for the game season. Any person returning a lady's Japanese parasol, lost about a fortnight ago, to the office of this paper will bo rewarded. The owner of an overcoat, which has been found, can have same on application at this office and paying expenses. The virtues of Epps's cocoa for breakfast are published. A number of new advertisements will be found in our "Wanted " column.
