Cisboexe, This day. Mr Aokroyd returned from the South Pacific oil springs yesterday. He speaks hopefully of the ultimate success of the present operations. The indications arc most encouraging, and the new bore is down 120 fee t. Shifts of men are working day and night. Later. At the South Pacific petroleum works the rock, being found sufficiently hard in tho bore, the use of tho pipes have been dispensed with, after a depth of 271 feet being reached.
