THE H.B. POULTRY AND CANARY ASSOCIATION.
The fourth annual meeting of the above was held on Saturday afternoon at the Masonic Hotel, F. Sut'ton, Esq., M.H.R., presiding. The annual balance-sheet was presented, showing the income for the year, inclusive of balance of nearly £17 bronght forward, to have been £180'"sod, and the expenditure, including prize money, judges' fees, rent, &c, £180 2s lid, leaving a credit balance of 4s Gd. The assets were put down at £12 11s Gd, and the liabilities at £o /ss, being part bonus duo to the secretary. The election of ofliccrsresulted as follows : —Patron, His Worship the Mayor; President, Mr H. S. Tiffen ; Vice-Presidents, Capt. Russell, Mr Sutton, M.H.R., Mr W. 0. Smith, M.H.R., Mr Buchanan, M.H.R., and Messrs Lyndon, Vautier, and Ormond ; committee, Messrs Smyth, Winter, Pell, Hooper, Cranny, Garner, Dugloby, Galbraith, Balfour.'W. Miller, E. Conroy, and S. J. Williams. The late lion, secretary and treasurer (Mr H. Lascellcs) declining to act any longer, Mr 0. G-. Smyth was appointed secretary and treasurer at a salary of £10 per annum.
It was agreed to hold the next show about the beginning of August. The question of purchasing the canvas shed at MrTiffen's, inTonnysou-strcet, was left to the committtc to decide. A suggestion was made to the effect that many prize takers would prefer a certificate or medal to a money prize, and the committee was authorised to obtain designs and prices for such, prize takers, of course, to have the choice of them or the money value of the
prize. The remaining business was of a formal character.
