The following are the Riverton tire insurance as far as known:—Hayes, £-'.00 in New Zealand office and £100 iv A'ictoria office, loss £1-100; Paterson, £700 in New Zealand and Union offices; Price and Bullied, £700 in (he South British office; AVillct, £000 in the Victoria office; Hancock £000, and Campbell £12.3, in Union office; Scobic, £100.
Later. So far there is no clue as to the origin of ho fire at Riverton. As nearly as can be earned the insurances amount to £\b~tb,
distributed as follows:—Union. £\b~b ; South British, .ClloO ; Alctoria, £800 ; New Zealand, £000; Royal, £:S00; Standard, yl•")(). The total actual loss is estimated at
.0.000. AVith the . exception of the Caledonian Hotel the furniture and stock of the other buildings were saved, although damaged in removal.
