DEPARTURES.
May. 10—Manaia, p.s., for Wairoa, with thirty passengers, the principal part of whom were natives.
The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Allman, Avhich left Gisborne at 2.30 a.m. this day, Avas coming up the bay as our report left the Spit, and would probably drop anchor about 1 o'clock. She Avould be tendered on arrival by the Booiuin for mails and passengers, but Avould be unable to get inside to discharge her cargo until 4 o'clock in the afternoon. She is announced to steam hence for Wellington only at 10 o'clock to-morroAV morning. The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, Avhich has been bar-bound at Mohaka for the past few days, returned to port at 11 o'clock this day, bringing a number of passengers, 9 tuns of Avhalo oil, 20 quarterbales of avool, and and a quantity of fruit. She will be leaving- for Wairoa at 12 o'clock to-morroAV night. The three-masted schooner Silver Cloud, Capt. Ballo, Avas towed inside by the s.s. Sir Donald at 10 o'clock this morning, and took up her berth at the breastwork. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Taiaroa, Capt. Hansby, is telegraphed as having left AVellington at G o'clock last night, Avith 100 tons of cargo on board for this port. She Avill probably put in an nppoarance in tho bay at 3 or 4 o'clock this afternoon, and will be at once tendered for mails, passengers, aud cargo. The former are to leave to Avharf at 7 o'clock to-night, the Tairoa getting aAvay for Gisborne and Auckland soon afterward. The paddle'steamer Manaia took her departure for AVairoa at 10.30 o'clock this day, taking a large number of passengers and a full cargo. , Tho Union Company's steamer AVair'arapa is expected to lcaA-c Auckland for Melbourne via Southern ports during the early part of this afternoon, and Avould bo due here by daylight on Saturday morning. She -will bo tendered as usual for cargo and passengers, the latter outwards leaving the wharf at 2 o'clock the same day. Tho s.s. Kiwi's departure from AVellington has been postponed until to-night, and she -will thus not arrive here before Saturday morning. The Union Company's .s.s. AVaihora is the steamer due here on Saturday next from Southern ports on her maiden trip up the coast.

[BY TELEGRAPH.] Wellington, This day. Sailed, Crownthorpe, barque, for London Dunedin, This day. Sailed, Fenstauton for Loudon, and Ros. Dim for Portland, Oregon. The Fenstanton's cargo includes 2392 bales of avool, and 6740 carcases of frozen meat.
