INCREASING THE PROPERTY TAX ON APPEAL.

The Board of Reviewers under the Property Assessment Act have raised tip to the present time the valuations of properties hi the district over £00,000. The most of these were appeals by Mr J. Spcrrey, the Commissioner, against the values of the valuers. The Road Boards first took action in the matter on account of many of the values being what they considered much too low, with the result as stated above.
