Alaungaharuru District—Fern bills and spurs on the western slopes of the Alaungaharuru Range; the soil is light; about onehalf of Section 2 is undulating country coveren Avith natural grasses; Section 4 has frontage to Taupo road ; a few clumps of bush are scattered about, on Section 1. AVaitara District — Open fern country, hilly. A bridle road on the permanent grades has been formed a distance of twelve miles through the block, starting from the Taupo road about thirty-five miles from Napier.
