REPORTED DROWNING OF A MAIL CARRIER.

Thames, This day. Sergt.-Alajor Kicly received the following telegram from Constable Law, of Pocroa, at 7.40 last evening:—"lt is reported here that the boy carrying the mail between tbe Thames and Taurauga has been drowned in the AVaihi river, and that the horses and mails have been swept aAvay. A constable starts at once for AVaihi. "
