ANGLICAN CHURCH GENERAL SYNOD.
The Synod resumed its sittings yesterday afternoon.
The committee to report on the advisability or otherwise of establishing a church newspaper brought up their report, which was favorable to the scheme.
A resolution was passed giving the orders of the day precedence over notices of motion.
The Incorporation of Trustees Bill was read a second time, amended in committee, and on being reported was ordered to be read a third time on Friday. The Codification of Statutes Bill was read a second time, and in committee several of the clauses were agreed to, when progress was reported at the 6 o'clock adjournment. At tho evening sitting the SjTiod continued the consideration of the Codification Bill in committee, till progress was reported. The report on Trusts was brought up, and ordered to be considered on Friday.
Statute No. 7 Amendment Bill, relative to the examination of Sunday School teachers, was read a second time, passed through committee, and tho third reading mado7in order of the day for Friday.
The Ecclesiastical Offences Bill was read a second time.
The Synod then went into committee on the Codification Bill, which was reported with amendments, and the third reading fixed for Friday.
A bill to prescribe the method to be adopted in making future amendments to existing canons was read a second time, committed, reported with amendments, and the third reading ordered for Friday. It was resolved that the Synod should meet at '2 p.m. for the future, and an adjournment was made tg that hour.
